Education, Training, and Teaching

Dr. Ramirez Gavidia’s training, standards, competence, and ethics are first in class. He completed his general surgery residency training at The Cleveland Clinic.

He then relocated to Nashville and completed three years of specialized training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

During his time in Cleveland, Dr. Ramirez Gavidia was a full-time surgeon and was teaching many general surgery residents. He was appointed clinical instructor of anatomy with Case Western University and Lerner School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident in his final year at Vanderbilt University, which has one of the top plastic and reconstructive surgery training programs. At Vanderbilt, he trained with world-renowned surgeons.

Author and Presenter

Throughout his residencies, Dr. Ramirez Gavidia published multiple articles and abstracts in various medical journals. He was invited to present his work at several national and international meetings for The American Association of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). The topics he presented include safety in liposuction, aesthetic surgery, cranial facial reconstruction, and extremity reconstruction after severe trauma. In addition, Dr. Ramirez Gavidia was the recipient of The American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons scholarship.

On a Personal Note…

Dr. Ramirez Gavidia resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife, Christina. He spends his time enjoying the art of painting, playing the guitar, hiking, boating, horseback riding, and spending time with his two sons, Jose and Gabriel.
