BroadBand Light™ (BBL) – Intense Pulsed Light Technology

Sun exposure, an active lifestyle, and everyday living results in visible signs of skin aging. Thanks to the latest in skin rejuvenation technology, you are not destined to have dull- looking skin. It is possible to reclaim luminous, glowing skin with the help of BroadBand Light™ (BBL).

BroadBand Light™ Technology

Sciton’s BroadBand Light™ (BBL) is the world’s most powerful IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) device on the market. It works by directing light energy into the skin. The light energy delivered by BBL will gently heat the outer layers of your skin and is then absorbed by target areas. The target, or chromophore, can be the pigment in skin, pigment in hair, redness of blood vessels and even the bacteria causing acne. After the heat energy is absorbed by the target, it sets in motion the breakdown of target tissues, resulting in the elimination of the target from the skin. The healing response begins, producing healthy collagen and elastin. This process restores your skin to its natural beauty, leaving you with clearer, smoother, and vibrant skin.

Broadband Light (BBL) Versatility

RG Corrective BBL

BBL is the perfect treatment option if you're concerned about pigmentation issues or rosacea. BBL helps reduce unwanted melanin and eliminate the fine vessels that cause redness. Your skin will look smoother, healthier, vibrant and more even— in fewer treatments than other IPL systems.

RG Forever Young BBL

Forever Young BBL™ is clinically proven not only to correct sun damage, but also to prevent the signs of aging skin. This non- invasive treatment delivers BroadBand Light to the epidermis and dermis, stimulating changes in skin tone, texture, elasticity and pigmentation — with visible, long-lasting improvement after just one treatment. All with zero downtime.

RG Forever Clear BBL

Forever Clear BBL™ destroys acne-causing bacteria, reduces inflammation and redness, and makes way for clear, healthy skin. This treatment is an alternative to expensive creams and medicine that may come with undesired side affects. Forever Clear BBL is fast, comfortable and non-invasive — with visible results after just one treatment, with no downtime.

RG Forever Bare BBL

Unlike traditional hair reduction devices that apply energy to an area all at once, Forever Bare BBL uses motion technology to deliver a low fluence in multiple pulses, protecting the skin while progressively raising the follicle temperature to the optimal level for hair removal. Concurrently, a sapphire plate on the handpiece provides continuous cooling, even at maximum power, to cool the skin before, during and after treatment.

RG SkinTyte BBL

SkinTyte™ uses infra-red light to deeply heat dermal collagen, while using the sapphire contact cooling of the BBL platform to protect the epidermis. With this advanced technology, the treatment initiates the body’s natural healing process which leads to a more youthful appearance — with no downtime, and no need for a topical anesthetic. You can count on SkinTyte™ as one of the safest, most optimized, most cost-effective ways to attain younger-looking skin.

What areas does the BBL broadband light treat?

Any area of your body can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of the sunlight. The most popular treatment areas are the face, neck, chest, back of the hands, and shoulders.

How many treatments of BBL broadband light will I need?

The number of treatments needed will vary from patient too patient. Our lead Aesthetician/Laser Tech will personalize a treatment plan for you based on the level of improvement you desire. She may also combine your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to further customize your treatment.

Is the BBL broadband light uncomfortable?

This procedure is gentle, noninvasive, and safe. A topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area 45 minutes prior to the procedure to ensure a more comfortable experience for the patient.

What should I expect from the BBL broadband light treatment?

You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigment lesions, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. It is very important that you DO NOT pick or pull off darkened pigmented lesions, allow your skin to do the work. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine lines and pores will be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade.

How long do results last from the BBL broadband light?

Your at-home prescribed skin care regimen, the use of protective sunscreen and the avoidance of prolonged sun exposure are key to lasting results. Your daily habits make a difference in the lasting effects of your treatment. We can help you create a skincare regimen to keep your skin glowing and beautiful.

How does the broadband light BBL laser work?

The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colors and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. In addition, the photothermal energy will eliminate vessels that cause redness and reduce unwanted melanin that produces pigmented lesions.

How much downtime is required after broadband light (BBL)?

This is a noninvasive and gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities immediately.

What is required for aftercare after broadband light (BBL) treatment?

It is important to follow your physician’s instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.
