What Happens During a Hi-Def Liposuction Procedure?

Hi-definition liposuction is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. Very small incisions are made, and a local anesthetic will be injected. A specialized probe will enter through the incision, where it will be applied to the fat cells — causing them to instantly liquefy. This makes them much easier to remove, but doesn’t do any damage to the surrounding tissues.

Once the fat cells have been liquified, a small, thin tube called a cannula will suction the fat out of the body. The final and most important step is the artistic sculpting that sets the hi-definition liposuction technique apart. The length of your HD lipo procedure will depend on what areas are being treated and the amount of fat that is being removed.
