Sculptra®

Sculptra® is comprised primarily of poly-L-lactic, or PLLA. During treatment, this substance is injected deep into the dermis, or the innermost layer of the skin. Once PLLA floods the dermis, it pushes up and swells the skin. The injection site is then carefully massaged to ensure that the Sculptra® solution is evenly distributed throughout the treatment area. Over time, the PLLA microparticles begin to replace collagen in the deep dermis, creating a strong, stable collagen framework.

This supports, tightens, and volumizes the skin, making it look and feel healthier and more youthful. This treatment typically works best when patients participate in 2-3 injection sessions spaced 6-10 weeks apart. While it takes between 45-90 days to see the full results of treatment, these results tend to last at least two years. Following each injection session, some patients experience slight bruising and mild to moderate swelling. Fortunately, these side effects usually subside within two days of receiving injections.
