The RG Signature Facelift Procedure
During a facelift, excess skin and fat are removed, and the remaining skin is tightened and lifted. The goal is to achieve a younger-looking, more refreshed appearance. A facelift is a rather simple procedure, and because no foreign material is introduced, there is no chance of rejection. No new skin is grafted into place.
Before undergoing a facelift, you will be administered anesthesia. The entire procedure takes between 3-4 hours to complete.
There are different techniques for facelift surgery. After evaluating your facial structure and going over your personal aesthetic goals, Dr. Ramirez Gavidia will determine the right method for your surgery. He will take you step-by-step through the procedure and what you can expect.
Recovery After the Surgery
Facelift techniques have been slowly tweaked and perfected over the past 15 years, and they now require less downtime than ones performed in the past. During your consultation appointment, Dr. Ramirez Gavidia will discuss the specific risks and expected recovery time for your specific procedure.
Although the recovery time is shorter than it once was, there is still some downtime following a facelift. Once the surgery is over, you will be bandaged and given drainage tubes to help drain excess fluid that collects in the skin during recovery. Swelling usually goes down within 10-14 days of receiving treatment, and most patients can return to work within two weeks. Incisions are discreetly placed in front of the ear and hardly visible. For the smoothest and quickest recovery, it’s important to follow the instructions our team provides you with for healing.
