The HydraFacial is gentle, requires no downtime, and does not cause peeling like a chemical peel. It is the next generation of facials and a more effective treatment than conventional microdermabrasion. It uses a patented Vortex-Fusion system to deliver deep penetration of active ingredients into the layers of the skin.
- The first step involves cleansing and exfoliation, using a glucosamine solution and exfoliation tip to open pores and sweep away the topmost layer of makeup debris and dead skin cells. Patients have described this phase as a cool paintbrush running over the face.
- After cleaning your skin, we apply a light acid peel; however this is not your typical aggressive chemical peel; it’s a blend of glycolic and salicylic acid, which is progressive enough to dissolve the damaged, dead layer of skin with only a mild tingle.
- A vortex-extraction nozzle is used to extract dirt, debris, and oil from the pores. Unlike extractions in a typical facial, there is no squeezing or popping here, so there is a reduced risk of infection. Imagine it as a vacuum for your pores!
- Lastly, a tip called the vortex-infusion tool infuses an antioxidant and collagen-rich serum onto the skin to promote elasticity and hydration.

Dermalinfusion has similar technology and benefits to a HydraFacial. Both are 3-in-1 procedures that cleanse, exfoliate, and deliver serums tailored to your skin concerns. Unlike a HydraFacial, Dermalinfusion may cause some redness and irritation afterward.
A small 2008 studyTrusted Source of 20 women found that those who received HydraFacial treatments had greater decreases in signs of skin aging compared with those who used serums alone. The effects included decreased pore size, less hyperpigmentation, and decreased fine lines.
It can be difficult to find cosmetic treatments safe enough for this sensitive skin condition. While more research is needed to prove the safety and effectiveness of the HydraFacial for rosacea, a 2006 study revealed that similar techniques may benefit papulopustular rosacea.
Many clients report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. The smooth results and hydration may last 5 to 7 days or even longer.
